Ms. JEANINE BASHIR

Jeanine Bashir has over 15 + years of experience working in the nonprofit and human service sectors. Currently, Ms. Bashir services as a Regional Director for Arizona’s Early Childhood Development and Health Board. She has dedicated her life to empowering women and children and she serves as a voice for those that are not able to articulate their needs. She has played an intricate part in policymaking arenas and organizations that establish and direct community-based programs.

Ms. Bashir has been recognized for her work in the community for her work in the nonprofit sector and her work on maternal & child health issues. She was honored by the State of Black Arizona as a Community Luminary and was also selected to be a member of Valley Leadership’s Class 35 Leadership Institute. Nationally, she was worked and volunteered with the National Birthing Project and Health Connect One, formally the Chicago Health Connection. Internationally, Ms. Bashir contributed to the development of the United Nation’s Handbook on Domestic Violence. She also lived abroad in Kenya for 4 years where she assisted in the establishment of several non-governmental agencies and the establishment of the Nyana Hills Engineering, a business that assisted local communities in creating water solutions for their communities.

As a volunteer, she serves as a Commissioner for the City of Phoenix’s Youth & Education Board and serves as the Chair for Valley Leadership’s Child Well- Being Impact Team. Other organizations she has been involved with include Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Arizona Center for After School Excellence’s STEM Afterschool Program Planning Committee, and AZTEC for Girls. She also serves as project advisor for several STEM programs in Arizona, Kenya and Senegal.

Ms. Bashir graduated from Arizona State University where she studied Justice Studies and Public Administration.
