OYLA VISION & PURPOSE
OYLA offers a 9 month curriculum that includes bi-monthly seminars and workshops, in addition to providing culturally competent educational enrichment and personal growth activities including: service learning projects, local and national college tours and civic engagement programs.
Who is OYLA for?
The Omega Youth Leadership Academy is a comprehensive community based youth development program designed to effectively empower and educate males of color in 5th – 12th grades on how to face, navigate through, and overcome today’s social and personal challenges.

CONGRATS CLASS OF 2023
activities
OYLA members travel for 3 days to Los Angles via motor coach to attend the national COLLEGE EXPO that is attended by over 5,000 youth from through Southern California. OYLA members also tour USC, UCLA, Charles Drew Medical University, the California African American Museum, and Universal Studios.
Civic Engagement
Youth working with OYLA mentors annual identify and commit to giving their time and talents to serve the Phoenix community. Activities and partnerships include: NBA Cares- Feed the Children, Saint Mary’s Food, City of Phoenix MLK March and Celebration, Living Above the Influence.
